1- How did you get your beginning as an influencer?
I found my voice and went for it! After graduating from college, I decided to go for my dream and move to LA instead of taking the “safe road.” I started my blog to share my story and journey of how I did it. I was genuine, authentic, and super passionate. I used my passion and found my niche to really captivate my audience. Then just like that my blog took off! My blog, Back To Brittany is an LA Lifestyle blog showing others how to survive and thrive in LA just like me
2- How does your creative approach change from one social media platform to another?
Oh, definitely! My Instagram is my main social account where I get the most traffic, but I use all my social channels to promote my blog. There are certain collaborations I do just for Instagram, but others for other channels. I have a certain aesthetic to keep up on my Instagram, so I plan my posts whereas the other channels are not as planned. I make sure my content is of high quality across all social channels.
3- Why do you think your work garnered a positive reception from your followers?
I am unique which makes me stand out. I am also very authentic and I share my exact story on how I do things so it encourages other people to do the same. I am always real in what I post and I won’t endorse anything I don’t truly LOVE. As an Instagram influencer, your brand is your personality. The more real and authentic you can be, the more successful you’ll become as a result.4- Have any tactics been especially effective in helping you grow your audience?
4- Have any tactics been especially effective in helping you grow your audience?
ENGAGING is key and my number one rule! Commenting, liking, and supporting fellow bloggers in my niche has helped me grow my audience to what it is today. My second tip is posting high-quality content that generates emotion and be consistent with it. Be genuine. Be Authentic. Be Personal. Share your story and show your personality!
5- How would you say your content has changed since you started?
When I first started I had no idea what my niche was. Now my blog is officially two years old and I finally have discovered my niche and voice. The content you create has to connect with your followers on an emotional level. This gives them a reason to connect with you, trust you, engage with you and follow you. If you are doing something that makes you excited, share it and use that to make your followers excited.
6- What type of content does well on Instagram but don’t on another platform?
High-quality pictures with a creative and catchy caption work the best for Instagram. I post links on my other platforms, but people don’t want to be clicking links when they come to Instagram. I make creative Instagram stories when I do a post where I can then post a swipe uplink.
7- What kind of struggles are often not talked about around being an influencer?
People often assume your life is so glamorous, especially for me being in LA. The reality is that my life is far from glamorous. I work a full-time job AND manage my blog, and use to almost live paycheck to paycheck. It’s hard work! You have to really be motivated and engage with your community. You can’t just find a picture post and write a caption and your done…there is so much more that goes into it that no one realizes. My number one pet peeve is when I meet someone out in the community and they say “Oh my gosh! How do you have so many followers?” I get this all the time! It really bugs me, because I’ve worked hard to gain my audience and they just want me to give them a one time answer of how I did it which is not the case.
8- What is the most rewarding part of being one?
Knowing that you are helping people. It makes my day when someone new messages me on my social account or blog regarding a post and saying how it has helped them do something. It truly brightens my day! They normally have follow-up questions and I make sure to answer everyone who reaches out to me. I’ve already helped so many people survive and thrive in Los Angeles just like me!
9- Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Growing my career in PR and Publicity as well as taking my blog to the next level. I hope to become a well-known influencer in Los Angeles.
